Sun Sand & Wilderness
Day 1
Arrive at the Moi International Airport, Mombasa and check in at a beach hotel on the north coast of Mombasa.
After lunch, depart from the hotel for a Mombasa Island excursion with visits to the historic Fort Jesus, the Old Port of Mombasa, Old Town, Haller Park, Bombolulu Cultural Center, Mamba Village, etc
Dinner & overnight stay Mombasa
Day 2
After breakfast, depart from the hotel for a day trip to Malindi, a coastal resort town located 11/2 hrs north of Mombasa. Life in Malindi is very laid back and very popular with Italian tourists, hence the heavy Mediterranean influence evident there.
Attractions in Malindi include the following:
- Hell’s Kitchen, Malindi’s own version of the Grand Canyon
- Mida Creek, a bird watcher’s paradise
- Vasco da Gama’s Pillar, erected by the Portuguese explorer in the pillar, overlooks the open waters of the Indian Ocean, just metres away from Malindi’s central business district
- Arabuko Sokoke Forest, the last remnants of an ancient indigenous forest just before Malindi
- Malindi Falconry, a bird of prey and snake park
- Gede Ruins, evidence of some of the earliest Arab civilization along the East African coast
Picnic lunch will be taken by the sea
Return to Mombasa for dinner and overnight stay
Day 3
Spend the whole day at your own leisure.
Day 4
Depart from Mombasa in the morning and proceed to Tsavo West National Park. Tsavo gained notoriety in the early 1900’s when the ‘man eaters’ of Tsavo, a pair of rogue lions, gruesomely preyed on the Indian and European builders of the Kenya-Uganda Railway. You will 1st pass through Tsavo East National Park for game drives and visits to the following attractions:
- Aruba Dam and Mudanda Rock
- Yatta Plateau – the longest lava flow in the world
- The spectacular Lugard’s Falls on the Galana River
- Hippo Point and Crocodile Point
Stop over for lunch at Galdessa, an award winning eco camp on the banks of River Galana. After lunch, cross over to Tsavo West National Park and check in at a lodge/camp of your choice

Day 5
At the crack of dawn, depart for a game drive. This is the best time to view game, as the animals strike out in search for the 1st meal of the day. Animals to be seen in Tsavo include large herd of the African Elephant, leopard, giraffe, plains animals such as the gazelles, zebra hyena etc. The Park also boasts a proliferation of bird life with over 350 species on record.
Other attractions in Tsavo include:
- Mzima Springs: Melting waters from nearby Mt. Kilimanjaro flows underground water, breaking to the surface at Mzima Springs that gushes out over 20, 000 gallons of cool, crystal clear waters per hour. A palm fringed pool has formed which is inhabited by hippos and crocodiles.
- Sheitani (devil’s) Lava Flow
- Lake Jipe: An emerald green lake on the foothills of the mountains
- Chaimu Crater
- Roaring Rocks: So called due to the roaring sounds caused by the howling wind as it passes through the rocks
- Poachers Look out
- Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary: One of the successful conservations for the endangered rhino
Day 6-7
After breakfast, check out camp/lodge and proceed to the neighboring Amboseli National Park. Spread out at the foothills of Mt.Kilimanjaro, Africa and the world’s highest freestanding mountain, Amboseli is famous for its large herd of elephant
After lunch, relax. Embark on a late afternoon game drive. Attractions include: Mt.Kilimanjaro and cultural visits to a local Masai Village.
Dinner & overnight stay Amboseli National Park
Day 8
Check out from the lodge and proceed to Naivasha, a small lakeside town in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. Spend the night at a Naivasha lodge /camp on the shores of the lake.
Day 9-10
After breakfast drive further south to the world renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve. Check in for late lunch at a camp/lodge of your choice.
After lunch embark on a game drive.
Optional activities:
- Bush walks with excellent resident guides and Masai naturalists in traditional warrior attire.
- Half- day excursions to the Escarpment Forests
- Hot air balloon rides offer breath-taking views of the landscape and the prolific game down below.
- Delicious bush breakfasts
- Cultural visits to Masai villages.
- Sundowners on the rim of the Great Rift Valley
- Dramatic candle lit dinners beside the Mara River.

Day 11
Check out of camp/ lodge and proceed to Nakuru National Park. Check in at the camp/ lodge in time for lunch, after lunch embark on an afternoon game drive

Day 12-13
Check out from the camp/ lodge and proceed to Samburu Game Reserve, which on the southern tip of the Great Northern Frontier. Lunch will be taken enroute at Nanyuki which lies on the foot of the majestic snow capped Mt.Kenya.On arrival in Samburu you will check in at camp/lodge of your choice
Activities Include:
- Morning and afternoon game drives
- Camel back treks
- Visits to a Samburu cultural village
- Bush sundowners and riverside dinners
Day 14
Check out from the camp and proceed to Nairobi with a brief stopover for lunch at Nanyuki.
