The Volcanic Chyulu hills & Rainforest
The Chyulu hills are relatively undisturbed and shelter indigenous wildlife and vegetation. They are of relatively recent volcanic origin and the range is composed of ash cones and craters.
The park covers 870 square km and are located 190 km South East of Nairobi and 30 Km South West of Kibwezi. Chyulu hill hold no permanent surface water but rainfall percolating the porous rock feed many fresh water sources like Mzima Springs, Tsavo and Galana Rivers.
The Western Half is part of the West Chyulu Game Conservation area owned by Several Maasai group ranches.
The climate is hot and dry good for all year round visit. The park is ideal for camping travel and it has no active hotels and lodges.

Common Animals - Buffalo, Bushbuck, Eland, Elephant, Leopard, Forest Bush Pig, Mountain Reed-buck, Steinbok, Wilddogs etc. Access Roads: Along Nairobi-Mombasa highway(230km), The park gate is 10km off the highway. The park has limited road netwok an 4X4 vehicle with high clearance is highly recommended. Airstrips: The park has two airstips. Activities Wildlife viewing, Camping, Hiking, Walking, Cave exploration, etc.
